As we are heading into Spring the Pantone Colour Institute have released the key colour trends for Autumn/Winter 2019-2020.
The Pantone Colour Institute have influenced the colour design and trends for over 40 years. Initially it was started to solve colour matching problems within the printing industry. Each tone and tint were given a number to classify it. Since then Pantone has been the go to colour matching system for not only the design industry but also paint, textile and plastic manufacturers.
Colour of the Year. From the year 2000 Pantone have released a colour of the year each December which is awaited for with much excitement. The colour for 2019 is Living Coral 16-1546 described as ‘buoyant, vibrant and effervescent’. This will dominate the design industry for the rest of the year.
So how does that affect the kitchen world? Well we expect the colours to filter through to appliances, kitchen islands and units. Forest Biome (Deep Forest Green), Butterscotch (Vibrant and rich yellow/orange) and Galaxy Blue (almost a Royal Blue) are to name a few of the wonderful vibrant new colours.
However if you were looking for something a bit more understated Frost Grey (mid grey) and Rutabaga (a basic beige) are colours to look out for.
Can’t wait to see what the Pantone Colour for 2020 will be come December.
